No! Surf board carriers/racks are illegal, so none of our scooters are fitted with them. Just because other scooters have then fitted does not mean they are legal.

YES & NO!

It is illegal in Australia to carry a passenger unless you have a full motorcycle licence.
The 50cc scooters are only registered for a single rider.
Our 150cc scooters are registered to carry a passenger, but you must have a full motorbike licence.

I have a bike licence, can I carry my 2 year old as a passenger?

It is advisable during peak periods to call and book your scooter well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Are helmets provided?

Yes. A suitable helmet will be provided. The helmet must be worn at all times when operating the scooter.
If you are hiring a 150cc scooter and need a helmet for your passenger, a second helmet will be provided as well.
We do not charge any extra for the helmets!
If you have your own helmet, you are welcome to use that – provided it complies with Australian Safety Standards.

How much does it cost to hire a scooter?

Please see our hire rates here: HIRE RATES

A refundable $150 bond will also be charged.

How much deposit do I need?

A refundable $150 bond is required to hire a scooter. This will be refunded when the scooter is returned in the same condition it was hired and with a full tank of fuel.
You may pay the bond with your credit card or cash, and it will be refunded in the same manner.

I returned the scooter, but my deposit hasn't been refunded yet?

When you return the scooter in a satisfactory condition and with a full tank of fuel, we release the $150 right away.
Unfortunately some banks may take up to 7 business days to release the hold on your funds. Whilst this is frustrating and annoying, and may appear as though we have drawn these funds from your account, we assure you that we have not! It is the way the banks operate and is completely out of our control.
NOTE: Some Visa-Debit cards may take longer than 7 business days to release the funds back into your account.

What petrol should I use to refill the scooter?

Please use regular 91 octane unleaded petrol only.
Return the scooter with a full tank of fuel or a $15 refueling surcharge will apply.

The 50cc scooters also have an open storage area at the front to easily carry a drink bottle, sunscreen or maps.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Cash, Mastercard, Visa, Amex or Direct Debit.
(Some of our agencies may not accept Amex!)

What if the scooter is damaged or stolen?

In the event of minor damage, your $150 bond will be used to cover repairs.
If the damage is more than that you will be required to pay extra.
